Ryan crashed on my cousin Ryan's dirt bike when we were at Island park in July, and thought that he had just sprained his wrist but after a few weeks it wasn't feeling better he finally went to the Dr and had an x-ray done. The Dr called and told him he broke his Navicular Bone (the big one in your wrist by your thumb) and that he should see an Orthopedic Dr, but didn't say anything about coming in for a splint. So this morning we went to the Orthopedic office and Ryan had a repeat x-ray done since the first one is about 3 weeks old. Looking at the x-rays the piece that is broke off looks the same to me in both. The PA was really nice, and said that Ryan should have had a cast, and that if his arm is still bothering him in 6 weeks to see him again and that surgery will be required to remove the little piece that is broken off because it won't reattach. For now he has to wear a splint that makes it so his thumb can't move.

Poor guy, that doesn't sound fun, and it would be so frustrating not to be able to move your thumb. I hope he gets better soon.
