California fun

We recently got home from a week and a half of fun family vacation in California with my sister Kayla her husband Kyle and their son Brandon.

Logan got tired of sitting in the back seat by himself so Daddy sat in the back while I drove.

 Logan even got strep while we were there so we got to take him into the office where Brandon is seen, it is an awesome pediatric office, they took such good care of us. 

The most unexpected thing was on our way down we stopped in Rancho Coucamonga for gas and the battery died, someone tried to jump start the car but it didn't work so we were waiting for Kyle to come help us and a guy told us Auto Zone was just across the parking lot so Ryan went into the Home Depot and bought a wrench, took out the battery and walked it to the Auto Zone to test it and it was so dead they put it on the charger to see if it would even charge and it didn't so we got to buy a new battery and after Ryan got it in we were on our way, Kyle got off work a little early and it only took us 2 hours longer than we expected to get to their house.

Logan found some leaves to play with while we waited for Daddy to get back from Auto Zone.

We visited Irvine Park where the OC Zoo is located; it is the oldest park in California and the Zoo is really tiny, but very nice and a lot of fun.  There are so many different things to do around the park.

This is the statue of Mr Irvine, he donated the land for the park.  His dogs were named Whiskey and Bourbon.

We visited The Great Park and really wanted to ride in the big orange balloon but were not able to so we rode the carousel instead.  The balloon ride and carousel are both free.

Of course we visited California Adventure and Disneyland, it was Logan's first visit, Ryan hadn't been in about 20 years and I haven't been in about 12.  We had a day at each park with Kayla and Brandon and Kyle was able to join us for the evening at California Adventure.

You can tell Logan isn't too sure about Mickey, but he did a lot better with him than he did Chip and Dale.

When we got home from Disneyland we got Logan ready for bed and he wanted his flip flops back on and he layed on the floor next to me and fell right to sleep.

Logan had his first trip to the Ocean and was not scared at all by the waves though the water was cold so he had more fun sitting in his nice dry t shirt and a diaper playing in the sand.  He did try boogie boarding with daddy before we changed him.  I also boogie boarded for the first time since my family lived in San Diego, I think it was over 15 years ago we were there though I could be wrong.  Ryan even dug a hole and I climbed in it and Kayla took a family picture of me buried up to my knees in the hole, Logan wasn't so sure what I was doing then he wanted to help push the sand in.
