Camping with the Family

Friday July 17 we went up American Fork Canyon to Granite Flats campground and camped over night with my family. Mom, Dad and Quinton went up Wednesday; Megan, Kayla, and Kyle joined them Thursday; and we went up Friday. David and Tamera Smith and their kids were also there. Our families went camping together a lot when I was a kid.

Dad's birthday was Wednesday the 15th, so I made him a Fisherman cake and we took it up.

There is a little lake called Tibble Fork. You can fish and swim in it. Quinton and Kyle swam a little bit and Ryan went on a mountain bike ride. When he was done we all walked up to the river and walked across it and walked down the other side of the lake.

There were ducks swimming around the lake.
Quinton and Mom working on getting a fire started. Racquell sitting in the back watching them.
Me, Megan and Kayla. We were collecting sticks for fire wood and realized that they looked a lot like deer antlers. We walked back to camp with them on our heads like this and mom took a picture of us.

We had so much fun. Saturday morning we got camp all cleaned up and the cars all packed and we drove up to Silver Lake. It is about 20 minutes above the campground on a dirt road. It was a lot of fun exploring around there, my allergies started acting up thought. Good thing mom had allergy medication.
We look forward to being able to go up American Fork Canyon again.

Looks like you guys had fun! I love the mountains! That fisherman cake was adorable - those are the cakes you don't want to eat cuz they are too cute. Great job!
